Christopher Bellitto of Kean University, an ACHA member and the academic editor at large of Paulist Press, sadly reports the July 24th death of Paulist Fr. Lawrence Boadt, longtime Paulist Press editor and publisher. Although Fr. Boadt was not a member of the American Catholic Historical Association, a number of its members published books with Paulist Press over the years and some worked with Larry as editor or publisher. Certainly it’s fair to say that there’s hardly an ACHA member who doesn’t have many Paulist Press books on shelves at home and on campus–and who likely got through undergrad and even graduate classes relying on Boadt’s own Reading the Old Testament: An Introduction (Paulist, 1984).
