What it is:

A cash grant awarded to a graduate student or contingent faculty member to support research, travel, and/or writing.

Who is eligible:

Any ACHA member who is a graduate student or holds contingent faculty status.

Awarded:

Annually.

Purse:

$2,500 per recipient.

Number of grants available:

Two.

Winner announced:

Late May 30, 2023.

Complete the online form and have a letter of recommendation e-mailed.

Submission Rules

The general rules for submission are:

  1. The applicant must be an ACHA member in good standing.
  2. The applicant must be enrolled in a graduate program of study or hold contingent faculty status.
  3. The applicant must have a letter of recommendation sent directly to the ACHA Executive Secretary/Treasurer.
  4. Each recipient must submit a report, suitable for publication on achahistory.org, detailing one’s writing or research. The report should be submitted no later than six months after the announcement of the award.
  5. Once awarded, recipients will receive the first half of the funding before the writing or research begins. The second half of the grant will be awarded upon submission of the report detailing one’s research.
  6. In all cases, acknowledgment of ACHA funding is expected.
