Candidate statement
As the primary North American organization for the history of the Catholic Church broadly understood, the ACHA is well positioned to continue its original mission under the conditions of post-pandemic academic life. Our profession is evolving to become more inclusive both in terms of subject matter and demographically; and more researchers outside tenure-system ranks benefit from membership in a society that welcomes and supports their work. As an ACHA member since graduate school and a Life Member for almost three decades, I’ve been able to observe our organization’s growth from terms on the Executive Council and Finance Committee as well as at our annual and spring meetings, and I look forward to serving in the exciting and challenging years ahead.
