University of Notre Dame
Candidate for Executive Council Graduate Student Representative
(2025-27)
Candidate statement
I am a J.D./Ph.D. student in history at the University of Notre Dame and would be privileged to serve on the Executive Council. I attended my first ACHA meeting at the University of Scranton in 2022 and have since benefited enormously from the ACHA’s scholarly community. In both formal meetings and informal conversations, the students and faculty whom I have met through the ACHA have exposed me to exciting developments in the field of religious history and helped me to think about my own research in new ways.
As a member of the Executive Council, I would hope to expand the ACHA’s scholarly community among new graduate students and work with my colleagues to consider ways that the ACHA can help to bring scholarship on the Church to audiences that may have limited familiarity with religious history in general or Catholic history in particular. Benefitting from my training in law and history, I am further excited by the prospect of contributing to the ACHA’s legacy of interdisciplinary engagement.
