The American Catholic Historical Association (ACHA) has made the difficult decision to cancel our Spring Meeting, originally scheduled for March 27–30, 2025, at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin.

This decision follows the recent announcement of “retrenchment” by St. Norbert College, which includes terminating nearly all tenured faculty in the Departments of History and Theology, among others.

We sincerely regret the impact on scholars who submitted proposals and extend our deepest concern to colleagues affected by these developments. The ACHA remains committed to supporting Catholic Studies, a field central to our mission since 1919.

Scholars who submitted papers for the Spring Meeting are encouraged to resubmit for the Annual Meeting in Chicago in January 2026, where they will be given full consideration.
