Jay Carney, chair, ACHA Elections Board and his committee have certified the 2015 election results. Jay reports that Kathleen Cummings, University of Notre Dame, will be the new vice president of the Association. “What I have treasured most about my ACHA experience [is] the organization’s openness and warmth toward emerging scholars and any other members who feel themselves to be, for whatever reason, on the margins of the profession,” Cummings said in a press release issued by the Cushwa Center at Notre Dame, where she teaches classes on American studies, history, and gender studies.
Replacing Stefania Tutino and Anthony Smith as members of the Executive Council are Augustine Curley, O.S.B., of St. Benedict’s Abbey, Newark, New Jersey, and Katie Harris from the University of California-Davis. Congratulations to our new officials, and thank you to Amy Koehlinger, Cecilia Moore, and Mary Henold for their willingness to stand for office.
