2016 Annual Meeting: Deadline for paper submissions extended to April 18

Submission deadline: April 18, 2015

The American Catholic Historical Association is now accepting full panel and individual paper proposals for its 2016 Annual Meeting to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, from Thursday, January 7, to Sunday, January 10.

A proposal regarding any aspect of Catholic history from any era, region or culture is welcome. First time presenters, junior faculty, and graduate students are especially encouraged to submit. For members who have presented at consecutive meetings in the recent past, one’s paper or panel will be given a lower priority regardless of merit.

Information needed to submit a complete proposal

Please note that the following information must be provided for each participant:

  • Full name
  • Institutional affiliation
  • E-mail address
  • Title of panel
  • Title of paper
  • 250-word prospectus (for each paper submitted and, in the case of a panel, a 250 word abstract describing the panel itself)
  • Each participant’s c.v. (no more than two pages)

(For chairs and commentators, the prospectus/abstract and title of paper, obviously, are not required.)

Please note that participants may appear on no more than two sessions at the annual meeting. These two appearances must be in two different roles (e.g., presenting a paper in a formal session, participating in a roundtable, and chairing and/or commenting on a session).

Joint ACHA-AHA submissions (early deadline)

For panel proposals being submitted to the AHA for consideration as a joint ACHA-AHA submission, the ACHA Program Committee must receive your proposal by February 1st for review and acceptance. By February 1st, all ACHA-AHA potential participants must be members of the ACHA in good standing. The AHA deadline for panel submissions is February 15th. Regardless of acceptance or rejection by the AHA Program Committee, an accepted ACHA-AHA panel submission by the ACHA means that that panel will be part of the official ACHA Atlanta 2016 program.

Membership requirement

As approved by the Executive Council, all presenters at the Atlanta 2016 annual meeting must be a member of the ACHA, and all must register for the ACHA 2016 Atlanta Annual Meeting.

Deadline

The deadline for submitting an individual paper or full panel is April 18, 2015 at midnight Eastern Time (9pm Pacific Time).
